What are special services?

Edited

Special Services offer "name your price" opportunities for projects beyond standard lawn mowing or snow clearing. These requests allow you to expand your business and fill your schedule with high-value, specialized work.

What are Special Services?

Special Services cover a wide variety of outdoor maintenance and landscaping projects, including:

  • Seasonal Cleanups: Leaf removal (Spring/Fall) and yard debris clearing.

  • Turf Care: Core aeration, overseeding, and dethatching.

  • Landscape Maintenance: Mulch installation, bed weeding, and hedge or shrub trimming.

  • System Care: Sprinkler startup and winterization.

  • Property Care: Gutter cleaning, pressure washing, and junk removal.

How bidding works

Unlike standard mowing jobs with pre-set rates, Special Services allow you to submit your own custom quotes based on the specific requirements of the job.

  1. Review the Request: When a Special Service is requested in your area, you’ll see it on your board or in the "Available" list. Review the customer's description and any photos provided.

  2. Submit Your Quote: Enter the total price you wish to charge for the service. Consider your labor, equipment usage, and any material costs (like mulch or seed). You may include a message to the customer when submitting your bid, but please do not add any personal information, including but not limited to your phone number, first and last name, company name, or any direct pricing.

  3. Customer Approval: Customers often receive multiple bids. To increase your chances of being selected, ensure your quote is competitive and your profile has positive ratings.

  4. Booking: Once the customer accepts your quote, the job is officially assigned to your board.

Tips for success

  • Read the notes: Pay close attention to customer notes regarding property access or specific expectations to ensure your quote is accurate.

  • Material costs: If a job requires materials (like 5 yards of mulch), make sure your quote covers both the cost of the materials and your labor.

  • Speed matters: Customers are more likely to accept one of the first professional quotes they receive.
