How do I recommend an extra service to a customer?
The Recommend a Job feature is the best way to suggest additional services to your customers and increase your earnings. Use this tool to propose specialized services, capture on-site customer requests, or add extra work to a job you are currently completing.
How it works
When you recommend a service, you can choose to:
Add it to the current job: Complete the extra work during your current visit.
Schedule for a future date: Create a separate order for a later time.
Steps to recommend a service:
Open the details of any accepted service.
Tap the three dots (•••) options button.
Select Recommend a Job.
Choose the service you wish to suggest. If the specific service isn't listed, scroll to the bottom to enter a Custom Service.
Enter clear details: Describe exactly what the quote covers so the customer knows what to expect.
Set your price: Enter the amount you wish to earn for the service, including the cost of any necessary materials.
Add photos (optional): Upload photos of the specific service area to provide visual context.
Select a date: Choose when you can complete the work and send the quote to the customer.
Best practices for clear quotes
To avoid confusion and payment disputes, please be as specific as possible in your description.
Be descriptive: Instead of saying "trim shrubs," specify "trim the three boxwood shrubs in the front walkway." If a customer opens a claim, we will refer to your specific description to resolve it.
Pricing transparency: Do not discuss your price with the customer via chat, phone, or in person. LawnGuru and processing fees are automatically added to the quote the customer sees; mentioning a different price can lead to confusion.
