How do I quote a special service?

Special service jobs are one-time, "name your price" requests for services beyond standard mowing or snow removal. These can include yard cleanups, aeration, mulch spreading, hedge trimming, and more.

Viewing available special jobs

When a special job becomes available in your service area, you will receive a new job alert.

  • To view details: Open the Claim screen and tap the orange circle icon on the map or select the job from the list view.

  • Review carefully: Tap the job to see the location, photos, and service description. Ensure you understand all aspects of the request before submitting a quote.


Important: For Yard Cleanups, you are responsible for the entire property as described in the customer's notes, even if the map only highlights a specific section. For example, if the map shows only the front yard but the description says "Front and Back," your quote must cover both.


How to submit a quote

Quotes must always be submitted through the LawnGuru app. Providing a quote directly to a customer outside of the app is a violation of our terms and will result in removal from the platform.

  1. Tap Quote job.

  2. Enter your price: Your quote should include the cost of all labor and materials (e.g., the cost of mulch + the labor to spread it). You are responsible for upfront material costs.

  3. Select your date: Choose the day you are able to perform the work.

  4. Add a message (optional): You may send a friendly introductory message, but do not include pricing info or attempt to change the job details here.

  5. Submit: Your quote is sent directly to the customer.

Note on fees: The price the customer seeds will be higher than the amount you enter. This is because LawnGuru adds a fixed processing fee to your quote. You will receive 100% of the price you entered once the job is complete.

After you submit

  • Acceptance: If the customer accepts, you'll receive a text confirmation, and the job will move to your Route Sheet for the scheduled date.

  • Rejection: If a customer rejects your quote, you'll receive a notification with their reasoning. You are welcome to resubmit a revised quote.

  • Modifications: You can modify or cancel a quote at any time before it is accepted. Once accepted, the details are locked. If you need to change the service date after acceptance, message the customer in-app and notify LawnGuru Support.
