Why did a job disappear from my board?
It can be frustrating to see a scheduled job vanish from your board. Typically, a job is removed from your active list for one of three reasons:
Payment Failure: The customer’s payment method failed when you swiped "Go to Job."
Customer Cancellation: The customer canceled the request before service began.
Skipped Service: The customer requested to skip this specific occurrence of a recurring service.
Protecting Your Payment: The "Go to Job" Rule
The LawnGuru app is designed to protect your earnings. When you swipe "Go to Job," our system performs a real-time authorization on the customer's card.
Always swipe "Go to Job" when you are actually en route. If you wait until you have finished the work to swipe all the buttons (Go to Job / Start Job / Finish Job) and the card fails at that moment, we cannot guarantee payment. The system is built to ensure payment is available before you start the engine on your equipment.
Maintaining Professionalism and Trust
Customers receive real-time notifications as you progress through each stage of the job.
The 60-Second Trap: If a customer sees notifications that a job was started and finished within one minute, it creates the impression that the service was rushed or not performed at all.
Accuracy Matters: Moving through the app functions in real-time ensures the customer feels confident in the "superior execution" of the service they are paying for.
Pro Tip: Trip Charges
We value your time. If a customer cancels a job after you have already made the effort to drive to the property, you are protected:
Swipe "Go to Job" when you leave for the site.
If the customer cancels after you have swiped "Go to Job" but before you swipe "Start Job," you will automatically be granted a Trip Charge (approx. $5).
Warning: If you "batch swipe" all functions at once at the end of a job, the system cannot verify your arrival time, and you will not be eligible for a Trip Charge if the job was actually canceled.
Note: To remain in compliance with LawnGuru’s Terms of Service, always swipe app functions in real-time as the actions occur.
