When should I service snow removal customers?

Edited

Providing timely service is the best way to maintain high ratings and ensure your customers are satisfied. In the LawnGuru app, you will see two types of snow clearing requests: ASAP and End of Storm. When providers go to claim a job, the details will list whether the customer would like service right away or at the end of the storm. See example below.

ASAP orders

ASAP orders are for customers who need their property cleared immediately.

  • Completion time: Service must be completed within 6 hours of accepting the job.

  • When to accept: Only claim an ASAP order if you are already out on your route or ready to dispatch within the hour.

  • Important: Do not accept ASAP orders if you do not plan to start working for several hours.

End of Storm orders

End of Storm orders allow you to wait until the snowfall has finished before beginning service.

  • Completion time: Service must be completed within 6 hours after the snow has stopped falling.

  • Scheduling: Aim to service these customers as close to the end of the storm as possible. For overnight storms, ensure driveways are cleared so customers can get to work in the morning.

Provider best practices

  • Check order details: Before claiming a job, always check the service type in the job details to ensure you can meet the required timeline.

  • Communicate via the app: Customers appreciate updates. Use the in-app messaging system to send a quick greeting or to notify the customer if a weather event is causing a delay.

  • Consistent service: Treat every LawnGuru user with the same professional care you would give a direct client to build trust and recurring business.
