What Should I Do If I Arrive for My AutoPlow Job and There's No Snow?

Edited

If you arrive at an AutoPlow job and find that there is no accumulation or the snow has already melted, follow these steps to ensure your account remains in good standing.

1. Verify the conditions

Before taking action, confirm that no additional snow is expected in the immediate forecast.

  • Confirm the service type: Ensure the job is still marked as 'ASAP.

  • Check the forecast: Verify that additional snowfall is not expected within the service window.

  • Do not mark the job as completed: If the pavement is clear or has minimal accumulation, and no service is performed, marking the job as "Complete" is considered a violation of our provider terms.

2. Request a cancellation

To properly close out the job without performing service, use the Request Cancellation feature in the app.

  • Upload a photo: Provide a clear photo of the driveway or service area to document the lack of snow.

  • Receive a trip fee: If you arrived on time and documented the site, you will still receive a trip fee for the visit, even if no plowing was necessary.

3. Managing multiple jobs in the same area

If you have several AutoPlow jobs in the same neighborhood, and it is clear that none of them require service:

  • Bulk cancellation: You may request cancellations for these jobs without driving to each individual property.

  • Use caution: Only do this if you are certain the entire area is clear. Snow accumulation can vary significantly even between nearby streets.

4. Communicate with your customers

Keeping customers informed prevents confusion and reduces support inquiries.

  • Send a broadcast message: You can send a message to all customers on your route to let them know that, because accumulation is below the service threshold, you will not be plowing their property during this event.
