How do I message multiple customers at once?

Proactive communication is the foundation of a successful business on LawnGuru. Our platform provides automated alerts to keep your customers informed, as well as powerful tools for you to send personalized updates when plans change.

Automated notifications

LawnGuru automatically sends text notifications to your customers at key stages of the service process, so you don't have to:

  • Job Accepted: Notifies the customer that a pro has picked up their request.

  • En Route: Sent when you tap "Go to job" in the app.

  • Job Completed: Sent immediately after you upload your completion photos.

Using Customer Broadcasts

When something affects your entire schedule—like a rainstorm or a broken mower—the Customer Broadcast feature allows you to message multiple clients at once, saving you time and reducing support inquiries.

How to send a broadcast:

  1. Tap the Messages tab in the bottom navigation.

  2. Tap the Options (•••) button in the top corner.

  3. Select Customer Broadcast.

  4. Choose your recipients (e.g., all customers due today, or specific upcoming days).

  5. Select a message type and tap Send.

Message types

To help you communicate quickly, we provide pre-written templates for common situations:

  • Weather Delay: Ideal for rain, extreme heat, or heavy snow.

  • Mechanical Delay: Use this if your truck or equipment needs repair.

  • Personal/Sick Day: For unexpected family or health emergencies.

Custom Messages: You also have the option to write a custom message.

Note: Custom broadcast messages must be reviewed and approved by a LawnGuru agent before they are sent. This ensures professionalism and prevents the solicitation of customers outside the platform.

Managing replies

When a customer responds to your broadcast or sends you an individual message:

  • You will receive a push notification on your phone.

  • A red badge will appear on the Messages tab in the app.

  • We recommend responding promptly to maintain a high provider rating and ensure customer satisfaction.
