How do I complete a job?

Edited

The LawnGuru app is designed to help you manage your workflow efficiently while keeping your customers informed. Following these steps in real-time ensures you are paid accurately and maintain a high provider rating.

1. Claim a job

From the Claim screen, you can view available jobs in your area via the map or list view.

  • Tap a job marker to see property details and the payout.

  • If the job fits your route, tap Claim Job to add it to your board.

2. Head to the property

When you are ready to head to a customer's location:

  • Open the job from your Route page.

  • Swipe Go To Job.

  • Customer Update: This automatically sends a text to the customer letting them know you are on your way.

3. Arrive and inspect

Once you are on-site, perform a quick walk-around before you unload your equipment.

  • Property Inspection: Look for obstacles like locked gates, excessive pet waste, or debris.

  • If Unserviceable: If you cannot complete the job, select Request Cancellation and provide a photo. This ensures you receive a trip fee for your time.

  • If Overgrown: If the grass is significantly longer than the standard height, select Request Overgrowth Fee and proceed with the service once the fee is requested.

  • Start the Job: If everything looks good, take before photos and swipe Start Job.

4. Perform the service

Complete the work according to our quality standards:

  • Mow the entire lawn area.

  • Trim/String-trim around obstacles, fences, and edges.

  • Edge along sidewalks and driveways.

  • Blow clippings off all hard surfaces (patios, walkways, and drives).

  • Final Check: Walk the property to ensure no tools were left behind and the quality meets your standards.

5. Check off and complete

  • Checklist: Open the job in the app and check off each completed item on the service list.

  • Photo Receipt: Take clear photos of the completed work, including all service areas whenever possible. These photos serve as proof of service and are sent directly to the customer.

  • Submit: Tap Complete Job.

Important Best Practices

  • Real-Time Updates: Always tap the app buttons (Got to job, Start, Complete) as you actually perform those actions. Using them "after the fact" sends confusing notifications to the customer and can lead to disputes.

  • Communication: If you aren't sure how to handle a specific property condition, contact LawnGuru Provider Support through the app before you leave the site.
