What if the property is poorly marked?
Accurate property markings ensure you are compensated fairly for the actual scope of work. A property is considered Poorly Marked when the service boundaries (lawns, driveways, or sidewalks) are significantly inaccurate, causing the job size to be underrepresented.
When to flag a property
You should flag a job before accepting it or dispatching to the property. Look for these red flags in the service map:
Missing sections: Large portions of the lawn, driveway, or sidewalk are clearly omitted from the map.
Inaccurate scale: The marked area does not reasonably reflect the physical size of the property.
Major underrepresentation: The price quoted does not match the true labor required due to incorrect mapping.
⚠️ Important: If you arrive at a property and then request a cancellation because it is poorly marked, a trip fee will not be provided. You must flag the property from the "Available Jobs" list.
How to flag a job as Poorly Marked
Open the Available Jobs list.
Tap on the specific job to view its details.
Tap the Service Options button.
Select Flag as Poorly Marked.
Once a property is flagged:
A LawnGuru team member will compare the customer's markings against satellite imagery. We will notify you via the app once the review is complete to confirm whether the markings were found to be inaccurate.
If the flag is verified, the property tracing will be updated. This may result in a price adjustment to reflect the correct size, or the customer may be prompted to rebook the service with the corrected details.
After the necessary adjustments are processed—or once the customer rebooks—the job will reappear on your board with the accurate scope and updated pricing.
Best practices
Use your judgment: Minor discrepancies (a few square feet) usually do not impact pricing and do not require flagging.
Verify first: If you are unsure if a property qualifies as poorly marked, contact Provider Support before taking action.
